The Canadian Yoga Institute is a non-profit charitable organization (charity # 868910811 RR0001). We began our organization in 2000, with a pilot project teaching classes at a space rented from the UofL. From that early project we formed a small non-profit organization to ensure that our community would have a genuine yoga centre that fostered the healthy lifestyle of yoga. It was quite a journey to get from that point to where we are today. We have moved a few times, and made due with less than ideal situations as part of our growing pains. It has been a worthwhile journey.

Nearly 9 years later The Canadian Yoga Institute is reaching many people in our community with the gift of yoga. Many thanks to resources donated by numerable local businesses, and a few Grants from Alberta Sport & Recreation, TransCanada Pipeline, and Alberta Community Development, and the countless volunteer hours from individuals who all had a hand in creating this lovely refuge for our community.
